Santa vs Zombies on Google Maps
The great floatingsheep blog has conducted some detailed analysis of user generated Google Map placemarks. Just in time for Christmas floatingsheep have compared the distribution of references to 'Santa' and 'Zombies' in search hits on Google Maps.
You might be happy to learn the Americans are more interested in tracking down Santa rather than searching for zombies. Looking at the geography of zombie searches floatingsheep did find some geographical clusters in Houston, Dallas and Austin in Texas. Whether this is due to a particular localised zombie problem or not I can't say.
floatingsheep also decided to have a look at Santa vs. Satan searches and map the results. The map shows a line of Satan searches along the eastern seaboard. I'm not sure if Salem should be gearing up for another round of witch trials but there have been a worrying number of Satan searches going on in that part of the world.
